Dave Stean this your old one?
Vehicle wiring - make sure you know what your getting....
I wire up a lot of vintage, custom cars and hotrods and I have my usual go to products that I use, and 99% of the time I use american autowire brand chassis kits. Note that I have no affiliation with them, but have used them for 15+ years and not had any issues with the quality and performance of them when installed correctly.
Sometimes customers ask me to use stuff they want to supply, or go elsewhere to get the work done because the quoted price maybe cheaper.
Heres an example of a chassis wiring harness kit someone dropped off supplied to be used in a $100k+ vehicle and you can see why I refuse to use these.
These are commonly available and sold by a fair few places here in Aus especially in the hotrod scene as well as from ebay etc for $cheap
I have seen a number times, jobs done with cheap products that burn, melt and have also had a customer bring me a car to look at because smoke was coming from under the dash after someone else had wired it up. you can clearly see why this would happen.
So at the end of the day make sure you know what your getting when paying for a complete wiring job or at least when your buying the parts to do it.
Heres some picures...

If it has less wire does that just make it an extra long fusible link wire
It's cheaper for a reason, and it's not because the American gear is overpriced 👍
Recommend a basic pre wired fuse and relay box?
Ls proflow harness right there. Not even correctly pinned at the ecu connector
Poor man always pays twice
Great advice!
Mark Box
I've used a Rebel wiring kit for rewiring my Customline. Really good quality. Everything labelled. If you're trusting your wiring then use the best you can get.
